Breitling Superocean Heritage B01 42mm Silver Strap Watch
The original reverse panda dive chronograph.
Breitling expands the Superocean Heritage collection with the Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42, inspired by the 1957 SuperOcean ref. 807, the world’s first dive chronograph and origin of the reverse-panda dial.
When Breitling introduced the original SuperOcean in 1957, it set a new benchmark for underwater performance. At a time when chronographs were considered vulnerable to water intrusion, Willy Breitling partnered with renowned casemaker Huguenin Frères to engineer a robust, water-resistant case with dual-sealed pushers: a breakthrough that made the ref. 807 the first dive chronograph, and for years the only one of its kind. Its bold white-on-black “reverse panda” dial was chosen for maximum underwater legibility, creating a high-contrast aesthetic that would go on to become one of chronograph design’s most enduring codes.
The Superocean Heritage B01 Chronograph 42 revives that pioneering spirit. A black satin-soleil reverse-panda dial with contrasting silver subdials pairs with a scratch-resistant ceramic-inlay bezel, directly referencing the 1957 original. Signature arrow and spear hands, pointed indexes and a discreet date aperture at six o’clock preserve the clarity that defined the mid-century model.
Available on an integrated mesh-metal bracelet or black mesh-rubber strap, and powered by the Manufacture Caliber 01 visible through a transparent caseback, it combines historic innovation with modern performance, engineered for the sea, defined by design. Only available in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
